Conservatives opposed all those pieces of legislation.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"8478379\" data-originallang=\"en\"> With respect to Bill <a data-HoCid=\"12237277\" href=\"/bills/44-1/C-40/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Criminal Code, to make consequential amendments to other Acts and to repeal a regulation (miscarriage of justice reviews)\">C-40</a>, miscarriage of justice, it would seem to me that it is incumbent on all of us to have a justice system that functions well and does not put innocent people behind bars. That does not seem to be the perspective of the Conservative Party. The Conservatives want to block this legislation. The Conservatives want innocent people to remain behind bars. It is a profound disservice to Parliament that the Conservatives have been blocking this legislation, and they have not really offered any explanation except for the fact that they oppose everything that would benefit people, all measures of justice. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"8478380\" data-originallang=\"en\">I want to ask my colleague why Conservatives have opposed the bill, tried to block it at every step and filibustered it at committee when it would provide justice in this country and a mechanism to ensure that innocent people are not kept behind bars.</p>",

Le Parti conservateur semble voir les choses diff\u00e9remment. Il veut bloquer ce projet de loi. Il veut que des gens innocents restent en prison. C'est bien mal servir le Parlement que de bloquer ce projet de loi. Sans compter que les conservateurs ne nous ont donn\u00e9 aucune bonne raison qui justifierait leur opposition \u00e0 toutes les mesures qui seraient b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques aux gens.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"8478380\" data-originallang=\"en\"> J'aimerais demander \u00e0 mon coll\u00e8gue de nous expliquer pourquoi les conservateurs s'opposent \u00e0 ce projet de loi, pourquoi ils ont essay\u00e9 de le bloquer \u00e0 chaque \u00e9tape et pourquoi ils ont fait de l'obstruction au comit\u00e9, alors qu'il permettrait de favoriser la justice dans ce pays et de mettre en place un m\u00e9canisme garantissant que des innocents ne restent pas en prison.</p>"
