This is not about impugning somebody's reputation in the legal community. It is about impugning their reputation in the Italian community.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7858128\" data-originallang=\"en\">A member's privilege is fettered when they are intimidated from speaking based on something like clapping. In my respectful view, it should be a foregone conclusion that damaging or sullying someone's reputation in their cultural community is as bad as, if not worse than, sullying their reputation in the legal community. However, we have the member for <a data-HoCid=\"278257\" href=\"/politicians/kevin-lamoureux/\" title=\"Kevin Lamoureux\">Winnipeg North</a> reading something, presumably from the PMO, that does just that and justifies it. The Liberals are victim blaming in this case in what is an obvious overstep by the <a data-HoCid=\"245291\" href=\"/politicians/david-lametti/\" title=\"David Lametti\">Attorney General</a>.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7858129\" data-originallang=\"en\">I will end with this. The member deliberately used the term \u201cthin skin\u201d. I would have challenged him or the member for <a data-HoCid=\"278514\" href=\"/politicians/mark-gerretsen/\" title=\"Mark Gerretsen\">Kingston and the Islands</a>, who said it to me earlier, to come to work with me for one week when I was prosecuting sexual offences against children to see if they could last. That was a completely inappropriate comment. He should retract it and he should apologize. He should not be doing this to hon. members in this House, because it is dishonourable conduct.</p>",

En tout respect, je pense qu'il devrait \u00eatre \u00e9vident qu'il est aussi grave, sinon plus, de porter atteinte \u00e0 la r\u00e9putation d'une personne dans sa communaut\u00e9 culturelle que dans la communaut\u00e9 juridique. On voit pourtant le d\u00e9put\u00e9 de <a data-HoCid=\"278257\" href=\"/politicians/kevin-lamoureux/\" title=\"Kevin Lamoureux\">Winnipeg-Nord</a> lire quelque chose qui vient probablement du Cabinet du premier ministre et qui justifie une telle action. Les lib\u00e9raux accusent la victime dans ce cas, alors que le <a data-HoCid=\"245291\" href=\"/politicians/david-lametti/\" title=\"David Lametti\">ministre de la Justice</a> a clairement d\u00e9pass\u00e9 les bornes.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7858129\" data-originallang=\"en\">Je terminerai par ceci. Le d\u00e9put\u00e9 a d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment utilis\u00e9 le terme \u00ab susceptible \u00bb. Je les aurais mis au d\u00e9fi, lui ou le d\u00e9put\u00e9 de <a data-HoCid=\"278514\" href=\"/politicians/mark-gerretsen/\" title=\"Mark Gerretsen\">Kingston et les \u00celes</a>, qui m'a fait cette remarque tout \u00e0 l'heure, de venir travailler avec moi pendant une semaine \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque o\u00f9 je poursuivais des d\u00e9linquants dans des affaires de d\u00e9lits sexuels contre des enfants; je me demande s'ils auraient tenu le coup. Le commentaire du d\u00e9put\u00e9 \u00e9tait tout \u00e0 fait inappropri\u00e9. Le d\u00e9put\u00e9 devrait se r\u00e9tracter et s'excuser. Il ne devrait pas agir de la sorte avec les d\u00e9put\u00e9s de la Chambre, car il s'agit d'une conduite indigne.</p>"
