        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"7113630\" data-originallang=\"en\">Mr. Speaker, I rise today with renewed hope to address the crisis of coercive and controlling behaviour in Canada. I began this work at the start of pandemic when I started to hear from police and frontline service providers who were seeing a spike in domestic violence. I still hear every week from those suffering from coercive and controlling behaviour. They are living in fear of the physical violence that nearly always follows it.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7113631\" data-originallang=\"en\"> A tragic fact in this country is that one woman dies at the hands of her partner every six days. Many fear not only for themselves, but also for the safety and well-being of their children and other family members. The justice committee has tabled its report \u201cThe Shadow Pandemic: Stopping Coercive and Controlling Behaviour in Intimate Relationships\u201d for a second time. I eagerly await the response from the government to this unanimous report.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7113632\" data-originallang=\"en\">Taking action to make coercive and controlling behaviour a criminal offence will send a clear message that this behaviour is, in itself, violence. Taking this action will give hope to survivors, allow earlier intervention and help create a path to safety for survivors.</p>",

Bon nombre d'entre elles craignent non seulement pour leur s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et leur bien-\u00eatre, mais aussi pour ceux de leurs enfants ou d'autres membres de leur famille. Le comit\u00e9 de la justice a d\u00e9pos\u00e9 une deuxi\u00e8me fois son rapport intitul\u00e9 \u00ab La pand\u00e9mie de l'ombre: Mettre fin aux comportements coercitifs et contr\u00f4lants dans les relations intimes \u00bb. J'attends avec impatience la r\u00e9ponse du gouvernement \u00e0 ce rapport unanime.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7113632\" data-originallang=\"en\">Prendre des mesures pour faire en sorte qu'un comportement coercitif et contr\u00f4lant devienne une infraction criminelle enverra le message clair qu'un tel comportement est, en soi, une forme de violence. Cela donnera de l'espoir aux survivantes, permettra une intervention pr\u00e9coce et contribuera \u00e0 cr\u00e9er un environnement s\u00e9curitaire pour les survivantes.</p>"
