"en": "<p data-HoCid=\"7454543\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Mr. Speaker, Canada has lost a remarkable artist, the distinguished Jean Lapointe.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454544\" data-originallang=\"fr\">It would be an understatement to simply say he was a versatile artist. In fact, as St\u00e9phane Laporte wrote, he was an entertainer, a comedian, a singer, an actor, an impersonator, a juggler and a magician who made everyone happy.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454545\" data-originallang=\"fr\">His career spanned more than 60 years, from small stages to large venues, and he and Les J\u00e9rolas, with J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lemay, will not be forgotten. They also found success abroad with appearances on the <em>Ed Sullivan Show</em> and at the Olympia in Paris.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454546\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Beyond his life as an artist, he was also committed to social causes. At a time when everyone knew it but no one talked about it, he was one of the first stars to publicly talk about his addiction problems. He was such a great man who showed so much humility, and what an impact he had. The Maison Jean Lapointe will save hundreds, if not thousands, of lives.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454547\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Jean Lapointe will always be remembered as the extraordinary Maurice Duplessis of the Radio-Canada television series. I see that some of my colleagues remember him. What an extraordinary character and what a magnificent performance.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454548\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I will not repeat his lines about the Liberal Party because this is not the time, but it was very inspiring.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454549\" data-originallang=\"fr\">We extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends.</p>",

C'est un aussi grand homme qui a fait preuve d'une aussi grande humilit\u00e9, et quel impact il a eu! La Maison Jean Lapointe aura sauv\u00e9 des centaines, voire des milliers de vies.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454547\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Jean Lapointe sera toujours dans ma m\u00e9moire l'extraordinaire Maurice Duplessis de la s\u00e9rie diffus\u00e9e \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9 de Radio\u2011Canada. Je vois que certains de mes coll\u00e8gues s'en souviennent. Quel personnage extraordinaire et quelle interpr\u00e9tation magnifique!</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454548\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Je ne r\u00e9p\u00e8terai pas ici les phrases qu'il disait concernant le Parti lib\u00e9ral parce que ce n'est pas le moment, mais c'\u00e9tait tr\u00e8s inspirant.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7454549\" data-originallang=\"fr\">\u00c0 sa famille et \u00e0 ses proches, nous offrons nos sinc\u00e8res condol\u00e9ances.</p>"
