Dante and his mother were walking home after grocery shopping when two gang members started shooting at rivals. Horrifically, Dante was struck in the neck in the crossfire.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6384896\" data-originallang=\"en\">The two men charged with the murder have a long history of violent criminal activity. They are not sport shooters, duck hunters or legal firearms owners; they are criminals.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6384897\" data-originallang=\"en\"> This brazen shooting, which took place in broad daylight, has impacted me greatly. As a father, I cannot imagine the pain Dante's mother, family and the community are going through. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6384898\" data-originallang=\"en\">After consultation with a boots-on-the-ground organization, the One by One Movement, we have learned there is a gang war raging in Toronto. However, the <a data-HoCid=\"214296\" href=\"/politicians/justin-trudeau/\" title=\"Justin Trudeau\">Prime Minister</a> is waging his own war on legal firearms owners. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6384899\" data-originallang=\"en\">Community groups are begging for resources and to be heard. When will the <a data-HoCid=\"214296\" href=\"/politicians/justin-trudeau/\" title=\"Justin Trudeau\">Prime Minister</a> step up for this family and this community?</p>",
