Everyone knows that aluminum is extremely important to our ridings and our region of Saguenay\u2014Lac-St-Jean.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6032953\" data-originallang=\"fr\">My colleagues from Jonqui\u00e8re and <a data-HoCid=\"252708\" href=\"/politicians/alexis-brunelle-duceppe/\" title=\"Alexis Brunelle-Duceppe\">Lac-Saint-Jean</a> are new, and I am very happy that they were elected. However, they should realize that I was here first and that we have put in a lot of effort working with the government, with the minister's office, to find solutions that could help us and the industry. We put forward a number of proposals.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6032954\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I am very pleased today to see that my colleagues are following my lead. Their maiden speeches sound much like ours, which really makes me happy. This team work is important.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6032955\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I want to talk about our action plan. Our proposals to the government included an action plan and a timeline of less than a year to ensure that aluminum can be tracked across North America. We proposed that the United States and Mexico should implement the same strict controls on their imports as we do in Canada. My colleagues are with me on that one, which I am happy to hear. We also proposed that there should be more transparency regarding the $2 billion in assistance used\u2014</p>",

Le travail d'\u00e9quipe que nous avons est important.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6032955\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Je vais justement parler du plan d'action que nous avons. Voici ce que nous avons propos\u00e9 au gouvernement: un plan d'action et un \u00e9ch\u00e9ancier de moins d'un an afin d'assurer la tra\u00e7abilit\u00e9 de l'aluminium sur le continent de l'Am\u00e9rique du Nord; que les \u00c9tats-Unis et le Mexique mettent en place le m\u00eame contr\u00f4le robuste sur leurs importations que nous, au Canada \u2014 mes coll\u00e8gues me suivent l\u00e0-dedans et j'en suis bien content \u2014; plus de transparence concernant l'aide de 2 milliards de dollars utilis\u00e9e...</p>"
