        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"5756365\" data-originallang=\"en\">Mr. Speaker, I want to thank my colleague, the member for <a data-HoCid=\"214571\" href=\"/politicians/marjolaine-boutin-sweet/\" title=\"Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet\">Hochelaga</a>, for her long-standing work on resolving the housing crisis in Canada. She mentioned the issue of co-operatives. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5756366\" data-originallang=\"en\">I am fortunate in my riding to have a huge number of co-operative units available to my constituents. During the 1970s and 1980s, the federal government provided a lot of support to the creation of co-operatives, which now provide very important housing, affordable housing for seniors, for immigrants and families.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5756367\" data-originallang=\"en\">The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada, on behalf of the 900 housing co-operatives in Canada, has made specific requests to the government. One of those is to provide $7.5 million in funding per year to re-enrol housing co-operatives. We know that the co-operatives are old and they need to be retrofitted, and they want to become energy retrofitted. However, there is a possibility of municipal land in all of our cities, certainly in my city, where we could build co-operative housing now if the government would commit long-term funding.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5756368\" data-originallang=\"en\">Could the member speak to those asks?</p>",

Pendant les ann\u00e9es 1970 et 1980, le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral a fortement soutenu la cr\u00e9ation de coop\u00e9ratives qui offrent aujourd'hui d'importantes possibilit\u00e9s de logement abordable aux a\u00een\u00e9s, aux immigrants et aux familles.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5756367\" data-originallang=\"en\">La F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de l'habitation coop\u00e9rative du Canada, au nom des 900 coop\u00e9ratives d'habitation du pays, a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 des demandes pr\u00e9cises au gouvernement. Elle souhaite notamment un financement de 7,5 millions de dollars par ann\u00e9e pour la r\u00e9inscription des coop\u00e9ratives. Nous savons que les coop\u00e9ratives sont vieillissantes et que leurs logements doivent \u00eatre r\u00e9nov\u00e9s. Elles voudraient am\u00e9liorer leur rendement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique.
