I remember meeting with young, Canadian-born Islamic women who told me that for the first time in their whole lives, they felt afraid and did not feel welcome. That climate has been largely pushed back, and I give credit to everyone in this place, but it is on all sides and all parties to push back on Islamophobia.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5469616\" data-originallang=\"en\">Getting back to part 3 of Bill <a data-HoCid=\"6842344\" href=\"/bills/41-2/C-51/\" title=\"An Act to enact the Security of Canada Information Sharing Act and the Secure Air Travel Act, to amend the Criminal Code, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts\">C-51</a>, it is important that we not try to limit, in any way, the ability of, for instance, a local imam to reach out to people in that community and tell them, \u201cDo not listen to so-and-so. That is a misunderstanding of Quran. This is the real Quran, which is one that has nothing to do with violence.\u201d That is an important feature that Bill <a data-HoCid=\"9057418\" href=\"/bills/42-1/C-59/\" title=\"An Act respecting national security matters\">C-59</a> helps protect.</p>",
