In fact, even today, there are more Canadians who are waiting to sponsor a family here in Canada. The only thing that is stopping them, that is not allowing them to do this expeditiously, is the government quota.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5691092\" data-originallang=\"en\">At the committee level, witness after witness of all political stripes, Conservative, Liberal and NDP witnesses, all came to committee and called on the government to lift the quota, to allow for people to sponsor families to come to Canada. They want to do it, their hearts want to do it, and they have the financial resources to do it. The communities are 100% behind Canada in doing that.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5691093\" data-originallang=\"en\">The only piece missing in action that needs to do something around that is the government. Aujourd'hui, il y a encore plus de Canadiens qui attendent de parrainer une famille au pays. Le seul obstacle qui les emp\u00eache d'agir plus rapidement, c'est le quota fix\u00e9 par le gouvernement.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5691092\" data-originallang=\"en\">Les membres du comit\u00e9 ont entendu de nombreux t\u00e9moins, qu'ils soient d'all\u00e9geance conservatrice, lib\u00e9rale ou n\u00e9o-d\u00e9mocrate, demander que le gouvernement annule ce quota pour permettre \u00e0 des gens de parrainer des familles de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s. Ils souhaitent faire cela de tout coeur et ils disposent des ressources financi\u00e8res requises. Les collectivit\u00e9s appuient sans r\u00e9serve le gouvernement du Canada \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5691093\" data-originallang=\"en\">Tout ce qui manque, c'est la volont\u00e9 du gouvernement d'agir dans ce dossier.
