        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"5592260\" data-originallang=\"en\">Mr. Speaker, it will not surprise or shock anyone that I disagree with most, if not all, of those comments. First, what we are seeking to do is to send this legislation to committee. This legislation will have been before the House for three days. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5592261\" data-originallang=\"en\">My hon. colleague referred to the importance of hearing from correctional officers. I personally have a large federal correctional institution in my riding. In fact, there are three institutions. I have had a chance to meet with the union representatives for correctional officers on a number of occasions. I think it is always important to listen to those men and women who work in the system. Having the legislation at committee would allow us to do exactly that.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5592262\" data-originallang=\"en\">As my hon. colleague noted, this legislation has been before the House for some time. If we fail to enact legislation by December of this year or January of next year, because of court decisions in two jurisdictions, we could very well find ourselves in a situation where the institutions would have no recourse to the proper tools to ensure safety.</p>",

J'ai eu l'occasion de rencontrer des repr\u00e9sentants syndicaux des agents correctionnels \u00e0 plusieurs reprises. Il faut \u00eatre \u00e0 l'\u00e9coute des hommes et des femmes qui travaillent dans le syst\u00e8me. Renvoyer le projet de loi au comit\u00e9 nous permettra de faire pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment cela. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5592262\" data-originallang=\"en\">Comme ma coll\u00e8gue l'a fait remarquer, la Chambre \u00e9tudie le projet de loi depuis un certain temps. En raison de d\u00e9cisions de la cour dans deux juridictions, des \u00e9tablissements pourraient se voir dans l'impossibilit\u00e9 de recourir aux outils n\u00e9cessaires pour assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 si nous n'arrivons pas \u00e0 faire adopter la loi d'ici d\u00e9cembre ou janvier prochain. </p>"
