        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"4925599\" data-originallang=\"en\"> Mr. Speaker, I want to thank the hon. member for <a data-HoCid=\"213914\" href=\"/politicians/sheri-benson/\" title=\"Sheri Benson\">Saskatoon West</a> for her remarks.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4925600\" data-originallang=\"en\">The objective of this act is to prevent young people from accessing and using cannabis. I think everyone in this House understands the consequences for young Canadians who would chronically use cannabis, and the long-term effects on the brain and development. I think we all agree with that.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4925601\" data-originallang=\"en\">As I mentioned earlier, when I am in high schools in <a data-HoCid=\"214157\" href=\"/politicians/john-oliver/\" title=\"John Oliver\">Oakville</a> talking to the students, I talk about the health effects of marijuana, but I also remind them it is illegal to possess it and that there are consequences to breaking the law.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4925602\" data-originallang=\"en\">The member has spoken very passionately about decriminalizing marijuana in the current environment. Decriminalizing marijuana, I believe, would lead to an explosion of use. It would do the exact opposite of what we are trying to do, which is not have young people using marijuana. The solution is to regulate and legalize marijuana so we get it out of the black market, we protect students from having access to it, we make it punitive for people who are trying to sell marijuana to young people, and we fix the problem. Decriminalizing it does the exact opposite.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4925603\" data-originallang=\"en\">Would the member explain how, in her view, decriminalizing marijuana would stop the usage of marijuana by young Canadians?</p>",

Elle est contraire \u00e0 notre objectif, qui est de faire que les jeunes ne consomment pas de marijuana. La solution est de r\u00e9glementer et de l\u00e9galiser cette drogue afin que nous puissions l'enlever du march\u00e9 noir, emp\u00eacher les \u00e9l\u00e8ves d'y avoir acc\u00e8s et punir les personnes qui en vendent aux jeunes. C'est de cette fa\u00e7on que nous allons r\u00e9gler le probl\u00e8me. La d\u00e9criminalisation fait tout le contraire.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4925603\" data-originallang=\"en\">La d\u00e9put\u00e9e pourrait-elle expliquer comment, selon elle, la d\u00e9criminalisation de la marijuana pourrait mettre fin \u00e0 la consommation de cette drogue chez les jeunes Canadiens?</p>"
