There is nothing discretionary about it and that is why concern is coming from the community and from this side of the House. It may well be that a consultation period may take 45, 50, or 60 days. That may be necessary in certain circumstances. However, equally true, we may need to expedite the opening of a supervised consumption site quicker than 45 days.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4876278\" data-originallang=\"en\">The New Democrats will not agree to any amendment that would tie the hands of the <a data-HoCid=\"214328\" href=\"/politicians/jane-philpott/\" title=\"Jane Philpott\">Minister of Health</a>, particularly in an emergency situation, with an arbitrary number of a minimum of 45 days. That is why we will oppose it. I would encourage the member and his colleagues to do the same.</p>",
