Many of my constituents are gravely concerned, and the international community has issued an urgent call to end this humanitarian crisis. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5103553\" data-originallang=\"en\">Last month, I joined fellow delegates to the Inter-Parliamentary Union's general assembly in St. Petersburg, Russia in passing a resolution that sharply denounces the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Myanmar regime. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5103554\" data-originallang=\"fr\">We must persevere and maintain pressure, and I am proud that, under the leadership of our <a data-HoCid=\"214296\" href=\"/politicians/justin-trudeau/\" title=\"Justin Trudeau\">Prime Minister</a>, the <a data-HoCid=\"229209\" href=\"/politicians/chrystia-freeland/\" title=\"Chrystia Freeland\">Minister of Foreign Affairs</a>, and the <a data-HoCid=\"214322\" href=\"/politicians/marie-claude-bibeau/\" title=\"Marie-Claude Bibeau\">Minister of International Development and La Francophonie</a>, the Government of Canada is stepping up to do its share.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5103555\" data-originallang=\"fr\">The Prime Minister recently appointed Bob Rae as special envoy to Myanmar, and this week, Canada announced the Myanmar Crisis Relief Fund. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5103556\" data-originallang=\"en\">Our government will match donations. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"5103557\" data-originallang=\"en\">Advocacy and action must continue. I call on my colleagues, the government, and all Canadians to do their part, and all they can, to end the suffering of the Rohingya. </p>",
