Tackling the illicit trade in weapons is essential for the protection of people and of human rights. Bill <a data-HoCid=\"8886296\" href=\"/bills/42-1/C-47/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Export and Import Permits Act and the Criminal Code (amendments permitting the accession to the Arms Trade Treaty and other amendments)\">C-47</a> would put into regulations the criteria that must be considered before authorizing export permits. As with all regulations, all Canadians will be able to provide input into developing these criteria.</p>",
