I have three university campuses in my riding, and my incredible staff in my constituency office has had student after student coming to us. They were foreign students. They graduated and got their degrees, a lot of them engineers, and they had a lot to offer our country.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4238535\" data-originallang=\"en\">I remember one particular case with a foreign student looked forward to becoming a Canadian but he did not yet have his citizenship. He had a job offer from an engineering company, but he would be temporarily based in the states. He could not take the job because we did not credit his time in the country while he was studying and becoming acquainted with Canada. Therefore, I am very supportive of those measures.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4238536\" data-originallang=\"en\">Yes, the Liberals are making some good legislative changes, reversing the bad law that the Conservatives put through, but could the member tell us if the government is also committed to ending the lengthy wait times and the huge backlog, particularly in family reunification? We have case after case in my constituency office which are just heartbreaking. Family reunification and citizenship could be better expedited.</p>",

Il a d\u00fb d\u00e9cliner l'offre parce que le temps qu'il avait pass\u00e9 \u00e0 se familiariser avec le Canada pendant ses \u00e9tudes n'\u00e9tait pas reconnu. J'appuie donc ces mesures sans r\u00e9serve.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4238536\" data-originallang=\"en\">Les lib\u00e9raux apportent effectivement des modifications l\u00e9gislatives positives en annulant la mauvaise loi que les conservateurs ont fait adopter, mais la d\u00e9put\u00e9e peut-elle nous dire si le gouvernement s'engage aussi \u00e0 mettre fin aux longs d\u00e9lais d'attente et \u00e0 l'\u00e9norme arri\u00e9r\u00e9, surtout pour ce qui est de la r\u00e9unification des familles? Les cas qui se succ\u00e8dent \u00e0 mon bureau de circonscription sont \u00e0 briser le coeur. La r\u00e9unification des familles et la citoyennet\u00e9 pourraient \u00eatre trait\u00e9es plus rapidement.</p>"
