        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"4161382\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Mr. Speaker, the hon. member got a little carried away, but he did say two things I would like to comment on. First, he said that we voted against such and such a bill. It was that colleague himself who refused to vote in favour of a national inquiry into missing and murdered aboriginal women. He voted against a strategy to put an end to violence against women. I will not be lectured by him.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4161383\" data-originallang=\"fr\"> In terms of listening to victims, he is correct. I was in those committee meetings and I heard the victims. He will recall that these courageous victims told the committee that they supported the intent of the bill. I asked one of those victims if she supported Bill <a data-HoCid=\"6761928\" href=\"/bills/41-2/S-7/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Civil Marriage Act and the Criminal Code and to make consequential amendments to other Acts\">S-7</a>, and she said yes. When I asked her what specific parts of Bill S-7 would help women, she said that she could not answer my question because she did not know the details of the bill but that she supported the bill's intent to help victims and that more should be done.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4161384\" data-originallang=\"fr\">In short, I heard victims tell us that more must be done but they were not familiar with the details of the bill. I also listened to the experts, which my hon. colleague did not.</p>",

Elle m'a dit que oui. Quand je lui ai demand\u00e9 pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment quels \u00e9l\u00e9ments du projet de loi S-7 aideraient les femmes selon elle, elle m'a r\u00e9pondu qu'elle ne pouvait pas r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ma question parce qu'elle ne connaissait pas les d\u00e9tails du projet de loi, mais qu'elle appuyait l'intention du projet de loi d'aider les victimes et qu'il fallait en faire plus. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4161384\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Bref, j'ai \u00e9cout\u00e9 les victimes qui nous disaient qu'il fallait en faire plus, mais qu'elles ne connaissaient pas les d\u00e9tails du projet de loi. J'ai aussi \u00e9cout\u00e9 les experts, ce que mon coll\u00e8gue, lui, n'a pas fait.</p>"
