It was actually opposed by first nations and first nations women across the country because it does not protect victims.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4005284\" data-originallang=\"en\"> We see the same problems in this bill, Bill <a data-HoCid=\"6761928\" href=\"/bills/41-2/S-7/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Civil Marriage Act and the Criminal Code and to make consequential amendments to other Acts\">S-7</a>, which is supposed to prevent forced marriages. We see that this bill would have many adverse effects. Among other things, it would expel from Canada the victims of forced marriages and the victims of potential spousal abuse.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4005285\" data-originallang=\"en\"> This Senate bill does not receive support from the very groups that represent the women that the Conservatives say they are helping. I hope the government would be open to amending this bill to make sure victims are not expelled from Canada and put into the even more precarious situation that this bill would put them in.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4005286\" data-originallang=\"en\"> I would like to know why the government has not worked to put in place measures to prevent violence against women, and why it has not put in place services that would help the victims of forced marriages. Why does the government not have a plan to transmit these immigrant women information on services that are available to them, and services that are available to help their integration into Canadian society?</p>",

Pourquoi le gouvernement n'a-t-il pas de plan pour informer ces immigrantes des services disponibles et de ceux qui peuvent les aider \u00e0 s'int\u00e9grer \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne?</p>"
