Marie. My speech on Bill C-43 basically dealt with issues related to the amendments the bill would make to the Canada Marine Act. Those amendments were hidden in the omnibus bill and were not even examined by the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3930879\" data-originallang=\"fr\">However, I would like to inform my colleague that the president of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities told the Standing Committee on Finance that the federal government was not providing sufficient funding to support the development of Canadian ports.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3930880\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Was my colleague aware of that? What will the government propose to resolve this serious problem, which affects Canada's ability to play a major role on the international stage?</p>",

Cette partie a \u00e9t\u00e9 noy\u00e9e dans le projet de loi omnibus et n'a m\u00eame pas \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9e par le Comit\u00e9 permanent des transports, de l'infrastructure et des collectivit\u00e9s. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3930879\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Par contre, je tiens \u00e0 informer mon coll\u00e8gue que, dans le cadre des travaux du Comit\u00e9 permanent des finances, la pr\u00e9sidente de l'Association des administrations portuaires canadiennes a indiqu\u00e9 que le financement venant du f\u00e9d\u00e9ral afin de soutenir le d\u00e9veloppement des ports canadiens \u00e9tait insuffisant.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3930880\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Est-ce que mon coll\u00e8gue \u00e9tait au courant? Qu'est-ce que le gouvernement va proposer pour rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 ce grave probl\u00e8me affectant la capacit\u00e9 du Canada \u00e0 jouer un r\u00f4le majeur sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale?</p>"
