If someone is seeking protection, my understanding is that the RCMP investigates because it is a federal jurisdiction.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3182324\" data-originallang=\"en\">The changes with Bill <a data-HoCid=\"5926081\" href=\"/bills/41-1/C-51/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Witness Protection Program Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act\">C-51</a> would actually improve the eligibility criteria to allow more people who seek protection to see that protection made available to them.</p>",
