"en": "<p class=\"procedural\" data-HoCid=\"3529993\"> moved for leave to introduce Bill <a data-HoCid=\"6284288\" href=\"/bills/41-2/C-564/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act (time limit)\">C-564, An Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act (time limit)</a>.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529994\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Mr. Speaker, I am very pleased to rise to introduce a private member's bill that would extend the time limit for filing a complaint with the Canadian Human Rights Commission from one year to two years.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529995\" data-originallang=\"fr\">In addition, my bill clarifies the circumstances in which the commission can consider a complaint regarding an incident that happened outside that limitation period.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529996\" data-originallang=\"fr\">The Canadian Human Rights Act is modelled on the simple, indisputable principle that all individuals should have an opportunity equal with other individuals to make for themselves the lives that they are able and wish to have and to have their needs accommodated, consistent with their duties and obligations as members of society, without being hindered in or prevented from doing so by discriminatory practices based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, family status or disability.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529997\" data-originallang=\"fr\">That is a well-established principle in Canadian society, and so much the better. However, there is always room for improvement. We need to remain vigilant in defending those rights.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529998\" data-originallang=\"fr\">My bill is a modest attempt at improving the current law by giving Canadians who are suffering the consequences of a human rights violation a bit more time to have their voices heard.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529999\" data-originallang=\"en\">I close by noting that today the United Nations celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.</p>\n<p class=\"procedural\" data-HoCid=\"2\"> (Motions deemed adopted, bill read the first time and printed)</p>",

Il y a toutefois toujours place \u00e0 l'am\u00e9lioration. Il est important de demeurer vigilant dans la d\u00e9fense de ces droits. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529998\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Mon projet de loi constitue une modeste tentative en vue d'am\u00e9liorer la loi actuelle en accordant un peu plus de temps aux Canadiens qui souffrent peut-\u00eatre trop des r\u00e9percussions de la violation de leurs droits pour se faire entendre.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3529999\" data-originallang=\"en\">En terminant, je souligne que les Nations Unies c\u00e9l\u00e8brent aujourd'hui le 65<sup>e</sup> anniversaire de la D\u00e9claration universelle des droits de l'homme.</p>\n<p class=\"procedural\" data-HoCid=\"2\">(Les motions sont r\u00e9put\u00e9es adopt\u00e9es, le projet de loi est lu pour la premi\u00e8re fois et imprim\u00e9.)</p>"
