In that capacity I served under former, now deceased, premier Ralph Klein. He had a very different methodology when it came to dealing with problems or even crises. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3456712\" data-originallang=\"en\">He would get in front of the issue and would hold a press conference. He would have a <em>mea culpa</em>. He would explain what he knew. The media was very responsive and he found out that the Alberta electorate could be very forgiving. I think a little contrition and openness and transparency would go a long way to restoring the confidence of Canadians in the government.</p>",
