        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"3163747\" data-originallang=\"en\">Mr. Speaker, I greatly appreciate all of the feedback we are getting on this side of the House with respect to this particular bill.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3163748\" data-originallang=\"en\">In particular I would like to touch on part 7, which talks about the first nations goods and services tax between the federal government and aboriginal governments to be administered through a provincial administration system if the province also administers the federal GST. If we think back to how that issue was bungled when the HST was rolled out in Ontario, it will help us avoid a similar scenario in the future.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3163749\" data-originallang=\"en\">On that note, I have been speaking with some first nations youth from Whitefish River First Nation this weekend, and they still wonder why the government does not meaningfully consult with and accommodate first nations when it comes to legislation, such as this one as well. As members know, it was a big issue with respect to the GST and the HST discussions and even of the bill itself, and we would not have seen ourselves in that situation.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3163750\" data-originallang=\"en\">Can my colleague comment on the importance of having the government meaningfully consult, accommodate and get free and prior informed consent before tabling legislation that affects first nations?</p>",

Si nous songeons au fiasco qui a eu lieu lors de l'introduction de la TVH en Ontario, cela nous aidera \u00e0 \u00e9viter qu'un sc\u00e9nario semblable se reproduise.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3163749\" data-originallang=\"en\">\u00c0 ce propos, le week-end dernier, j'ai discut\u00e9 avec des jeunes de la Premi\u00e8re Nation de Whitefish River qui se demandent toujours pourquoi le gouvernement ne consulte pas v\u00e9ritablement les Premi\u00e8res Nations ni ne tient compte de leurs besoins dans ses projets de loi, comme c'est aussi le cas ici. Comme les d\u00e9put\u00e9s le savent, cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 un enjeu de taille lors des discussions entourant la TPS et la TVH, et m\u00eame le projet de loi lui-m\u00eame, et nous ne nous retrouverions pas dans cette situation si cette consultation avait lieu.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"3163750\" data-originallang=\"en\">Ma coll\u00e8gue peut-elle nous parler de l'importance de consulter les Premi\u00e8res Nations, de tenir compte de leurs besoins, d'obtenir leur consentement pr\u00e9alable, donn\u00e9 librement et en connaissance de cause, avant de pr\u00e9senter des mesures l\u00e9gislatives qui les touchent?</p>"
