I am not a scientist but the scientists said this, the fishermen said that and I said that we should put them together.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951954\" data-originallang=\"en\">When the member talks about the program of $245 million, I do not know where he gets that amount because the <a data-HoCid=\"128694\" href=\"/politicians/diane-finley/\" title=\"Diane Finley\">Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development</a> told me last week that it was $143 million. Every year $100 million goes to New Brunswick to look after the labour market. It is for the whole of New Brunswick for all issues. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951955\" data-originallang=\"en\">Because of the economic crisis, not the fishery, $43 million were added to it. In April, it was announced that there would be a 63% cut on the crab quota. It is a surplus from that, and that is why we are saying that we now need to look at special cases, like it did with other industries, such as forestry. The forestry sector said that it did not get enough. The government did it in Ontario in the car industry. I did not see members from the Conservative Party getting up to say that the money should not go to Ontario when plants were being closed. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951956\" data-originallang=\"en\">In my riding in New Brunswick, 2,500 people will not have a job starting Monday. What do we do with them? The Conservatives did not say that they gave the car industry in Ontario so much money, the training programs and everything for EI, and now they will not getting anything. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951957\" data-originallang=\"en\">There was a crisis in the car industry. I tip my hat to the Conservatives for doing what needed to be done to help that industry but it cannot stop there. We are in a federation and we need to help each other. We do not help just one province. We help every province that is having trouble. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951958\" data-originallang=\"en\">This is a surplus from what normally what would have happened. Nobody thought that crab quotas would be cut by 63% but it happened and the government has the responsibility to help the community. That is all I am saying.</p>",

Je n'ai pas vu de d\u00e9put\u00e9s du Parti conservateur prendre la parole pour affirmer qu'il ne fallait pas donner d'argent \u00e0 l'Ontario lorsque les usines fermaient.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951956\" data-originallang=\"en\">Dans ma circonscription du Nouveau-Brunswick, 2 500 personnes n'auront plus d'emploi \u00e0 compter de lundi. Que faisons-nous d'eux? Les conservateurs n'ont pas insist\u00e9 sur le fait qu'ils avaient donn\u00e9 beaucoup d'argent au secteur automobile de l'Ontario, pour les programmes de formation et pour l'assurance-emploi, mais les p\u00eacheurs n'obtiendront rien.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951957\" data-originallang=\"en\">Il y avait une crise dans le secteur automobile. Je f\u00e9licite les conservateurs d'avoir fait ce qui devait \u00eatre fait pour ce secteur, mais il ne faut pas s'arr\u00eater l\u00e0. Nous sommes dans une f\u00e9d\u00e9ration et nous devons nous aider les uns les autres. Nous n'aidons pas une seule province. Nous aidons toutes les provinces qui \u00e9prouvent des difficult\u00e9s.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1951958\" data-originallang=\"en\">Il y a donc un nouvel \u00e9l\u00e9ment qui s'ajoute \u00e0 la situation. Personne n'avait pr\u00e9vu que les quotas de crabe seraient r\u00e9duits de 63 p. 100, mais c'est le cas et le gouvernement doit aider la collectivit\u00e9. C'est tout ce que je dis.</p>"
