        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"1871594\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his comments.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1871595\" data-originallang=\"fr\">This omnibus budget implementation bill provides for the dismantling of Canada Post. In my speech, I described this budget as a very devious move by the government. This is not the first time the government has tried to dismantle the postal system, which should be an affordable universal public service.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1871596\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I presented numerous petitions from people in my riding protesting against the attack on Canada Post by Bill <a data-HoCid=\"3990856\" href=\"/bills/40-3/C-44/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act\">C-44</a>, as it was called at the time. This bill outlined how services would be dismantled, starting with remailing, as my colleague just said. We know that this is just the thin edge of the wedge and that the government will go after postal outlets next.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1871597\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Last fall, the government declared a moratorium, saying that it would not touch postal service, but it did not keep its word, because in Saint-Mathieu-de-La Prairie in my own riding, it is closing postal outlets in a roundabout way.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1871598\" data-originallang=\"fr\">The government always does things through the back door, by stealth. What it cannot do directly or indirectly, it does another way. It has Canada Post in its sights in the budget. </p>",

Ce n'est pas la premi\u00e8re fois que le gouvernement essaie de briser ce syst\u00e8me qui doit \u00eatre un service public universel abordable, la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne des postes.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1871596\" data-originallang=\"fr\">J'ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9pos\u00e9 de nombreuses p\u00e9titions de citoyens de ma circonscription qui s'insurgeaient contre l'attaque que constituait le projet de loi <a data-HoCid=\"3990856\" href=\"/bills/40-3/C-44/\" title=\"An Act to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act\">C-44</a>, comme il s'appelait alors. Ce projet de loi esquissait le d\u00e9mant\u00e8lement des services. On a commenc\u00e9 par le repostage, comme vient de le dire mon coll\u00e8gue. On sait bien qu'une fois qu'on a fait une br\u00e8che dans ce service universel, on va s'attaquer ensuite aux comptoirs postaux.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1871597\" data-originallang=\"fr\">\u00c0 l'automne dernier, le gouvernement avait \u00e9tabli un moratoire en disant qu'on ne toucherait pas au service postal, mais il n'a pas tenu parole puisque dans ma propre circonscription, \u00e0 Saint-Mathieu-de-La Prairie, on est en train de fermer les comptoirs postaux de fa\u00e7on d\u00e9tourn\u00e9e. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1871598\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Le gouvernement agit toujours de fa\u00e7on d\u00e9tourn\u00e9e et sournoise. Ce qu'il ne peut pas faire directement ou indirectement, il le fait autrement. Dans le budget, la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne des postes est dans le collimateur.</p>"
