        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"1602796\" data-originallang=\"en\">Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to be able to once again question the government on an issue of lack of transparency and lack of truthfulness on the part of the government.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1602797\" data-originallang=\"en\">During question period on April 21, my colleague for <a data-HoCid=\"128358\" href=\"/politicians/wayne-easter/\" title=\"Wayne Easter\">Malpeque</a> and I asked the <a data-HoCid=\"111560\" href=\"/politicians/gerry-ritz/\" title=\"Gerry Ritz\">Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food</a> to clarify some information in a report that he had tabled on April 17. In the report that he tabled, he claimed that on July 18, 2008, the National Microbiology Laboratory had informed the Ontario Minister of Health that it discovered matching genetic fingerprints in two separate human cases of listeria.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1602798\" data-originallang=\"en\">Everyone knows that when the listeriosis crisis hit, 22 Canadian lives were lost. However, Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health contradicted the report of the government and said that the information was in fact received on July 30 and not July 18 as the minister's report contended. We asked the minister to please clarify whether it was on the 18th or the 30th.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1602799\" data-originallang=\"en\">At that time, the <a data-HoCid=\"128868\" href=\"/politicians/pierre-lemieux/\" title=\"Pierre Lemieux\">Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture</a> claimed that the matters and issues had all been dealt with in committee. He said:</p>\n<blockquote><p data-HoCid=\"1602800\" data-originallang=\"en\"> Mr. Speaker, all of these questions were answered in the subcommittee last night. We heard from both Mr. McCain of Maple Leaf Foods and from the CFIA itself...I would recommend that he review the transcripts. </p>\n</blockquote><p data-HoCid=\"1602801\" data-originallang=\"en\">I reviewed the transcripts, and there is no clarification there. I ask the government once again when, in fact, was the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health informed that the National Microbiology Laboratory had discovered matching genetic fingerprints in two separate human cases of listeria? Was it on July 18 as the minister claimed in the report tabled in the House on Friday, April 17, or was it July 30, as the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health mentions in his report of April 2009?</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1602802\" data-originallang=\"en\">It is a simple question. Which is it?</p>",

Cependant, le m\u00e9decin hygi\u00e9niste en chef de l'Ontario a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l'information avait en fait \u00e9t\u00e9 re\u00e7ue le 30 juillet et non le 18, comme le rapport du ministre le pr\u00e9tendait. Nous avons demand\u00e9 au ministre de clarifier la situation: \u00e9tait-ce le 18 ou le 30?</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1602799\" data-originallang=\"en\">\u00c0 ce moment-l\u00e0, le <a data-HoCid=\"128868\" href=\"/politicians/pierre-lemieux/\" title=\"Pierre Lemieux\">secr\u00e9taire parlementaire du ministre de l'Agriculture</a> affirmait que tous les points avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9s au comit\u00e9. Il avait d\u00e9clar\u00e9:</p>\n<blockquote><p data-HoCid=\"1602800\" data-originallang=\"en\"> Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, on a r\u00e9pondu \u00e0 toutes ces questions au sous-comit\u00e9 hier soir. M. McCain d'Aliments Maple Leaf et des repr\u00e9sentants de l'Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments ont t\u00e9moign\u00e9. [...] Je lui recommande de consulter le compte rendu. </p>\n</blockquote><p data-HoCid=\"1602801\" data-originallang=\"en\">J'ai consult\u00e9 le compte rendu et ce n'est pas plus clair. Je demande encore une fois au gouvernement quand le m\u00e9decin hygi\u00e9niste en chef de l'Ontario a appris que le Laboratoire national de microbiologie avait d\u00e9couvert des empreintes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques identiques dans deux cas humains distincts de list\u00e9riose. \u00c9tait-ce le 18 juillet, comme le ministre l'a affirm\u00e9 dans le rapport qu'il a d\u00e9pos\u00e9 \u00e0 la Chambre le vendredi 17 avril, ou \u00e9tait-ce le 30 juillet, comme l'indique le m\u00e9decin hygi\u00e9niste en chef de l'Ontario dans son rapport d'avril 2009?</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1602802\" data-originallang=\"en\">Ce n'est pas une question compliqu\u00e9e.
