"en": "<p data-HoCid=\"1273697\" data-originallang=\"en\">Madam Speaker, as I listened to the member opposite from Manitoba talk about the evolution of pay equity, it took me back 35 years in an instant when I became involved with my local union. I became the president of the local union for Bell Canada workers and members will know the struggle the union had to get pay equity for the operator services group at Bell Canada.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1273698\" data-originallang=\"en\"> I must say that as I sit here today and I look around this place, I see many people who have taken part in the struggle on pay equity for years.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1273699\" data-originallang=\"en\">When the member for <a data-HoCid=\"128246\" href=\"/politicians/bob-rae/\" title=\"Bob Rae\">Toronto Centre</a> became the premier of the province of Ontario, his first speech was at our union. Part of the reception for an NDP government in Ontario from our union came from a sense that this would be a group of people who would fight for us and fight for the women in our organization, and they did. I cannot understand for the life of me why people with credentials of that nature would support this budget after a lifetime of fighting this.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1273700\" data-originallang=\"en\"> I am not meaning to centre the individual out any more than anybody else in particular in the Liberal Party, but how in the world do we have this kind of a recommendation as part of a budget that is supposed to stimulate our economy and help Canadians? This will set women back 35 or 40 years.</p>",

Une partie de l'accueil r\u00e9serv\u00e9 par notre syndicat \u00e0 l'arriv\u00e9e d'un gouvernement n\u00e9o-d\u00e9mocrate en Ontario d\u00e9coulait du fait que, selon nous, il s'agissait d'un groupe de politiciens qui lutteraient pour nous et pour les droits des femmes au sein de notre organisation. Et c'est ce qu'ils ont fait. Je n'arrive tout simplement pas \u00e0 comprendre pourquoi des gens avec de tels ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents appuient ce budget apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 leur vie \u00e0 lutter contre ce genre de choses.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1273700\" data-originallang=\"en\">Je ne tiens pas \u00e0 viser ce d\u00e9put\u00e9 du Parti lib\u00e9ral plus qu'un autre, mais comment diable peut-on avoir une telle recommandation dans le cadre d'un budget qui est cens\u00e9 stimuler notre \u00e9conomie et aider les Canadiens? Cela fera r\u00e9gresser la situation des femmes de 35 ou 40 ans.</p>"
