At that time, as now, the Liberal Party of Canada wanted to have the Americans build the international dream of the CPR to the west coast.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1278507\" data-originallang=\"en\">Interestingly, at that time, the leader of the Conservative Party, Sir John A. Macdonald stood up for Canadian industry and for Canadian provinces. What a shame that we have lost the Conservative Party of Canada. I hope we can get it back some day.</p>",
