        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"1739940\" data-originallang=\"en\">Mr. Speaker, I thank the member for her insight on the conditions that exist over in Afghanistan and for pointing out the fact that this is a terrible tragedy that is happening in the world and a lot of people are suffering because of it.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1739941\" data-originallang=\"en\">The motion before the House is basically pursuant to the defeat of a previous motion indicating that the committee's rights were breached because it did not have access to documents, further stonewalling by the government and it not being able to do its job. That motion was not dealt with. Now we have this opportunity to express more specifically the reason for a public inquiry.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1739942\" data-originallang=\"en\">The <a data-HoCid=\"128697\" href=\"/politicians/lawrence-cannon/\" title=\"Lawrence Cannon\">Minister of Foreign Affairs</a> just spoke and one of the things that he said to us, in addition to all the terrible things that are going on in Afghanistan, was that we are also trying to prevent possible terrorist attacks against Canada. He also said that the 2005 agreement on Afghan detainees was inadequate. If it was inadequate, does that mean that torture of detainees could have happened?</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1739943\" data-originallang=\"en\">Then he said--</p>",
