I do enjoy working with my three fellow whips.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1140155\" data-originallang=\"en\">However, this decision and this change is very important. It is appropriately debated in this House and it is appropriately voted on in this House. While one of the avenues would be to go through procedure and House affairs, and because that committee is suspended and not working, I would say that this is an appropriate venue and again would reiterate that any decision of any committee would end up back here in the House and be voted on by all members of Parliament.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1140156\" data-originallang=\"en\">I would also underscore that this impacts every member of this House and their ability to function as parliamentarians. Therefore, it needs to be dealt with expeditiously. I would also point out that the bugbear of any kind of legislation for me is always unintended consequences.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1140157\" data-originallang=\"en\">We have not had this ethics legislation for very long. Clearly, we are working our way through this. I think the commissioner did express her view in the report on my colleague from <a data-HoCid=\"78938\" href=\"/politicians/283/\" title=\"Robert Thibault\">West Nova</a> and therefore it is appropriate that we both debate and vote on this today.</p>",

Elle doit donc \u00eatre r\u00e9gl\u00e9e dans les plus brefs d\u00e9lais. Par ailleurs, j'ai toujours pens\u00e9 que la b\u00eate noire qui se cache derri\u00e8re toute mesure l\u00e9gislative, ce sont les cons\u00e9quences impr\u00e9vues.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1140157\" data-originallang=\"en\">Cette mesure l\u00e9gislative en mati\u00e8re d'\u00e9thique est encore assez r\u00e9cente. Il est clair que nous devons travailler pour surmonter cette difficult\u00e9. Je crois que la commissaire a exprim\u00e9 son opinion dans le rapport sur mon coll\u00e8gue de <a data-HoCid=\"78938\" href=\"/politicians/283/\" title=\"Robert Thibault\">Nova-Ouest</a> et il convient donc que nous ayons ce d\u00e9bat, suivi d'un vote, aujourd'hui m\u00eame. </p>"
