        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"589565\" data-originallang=\"en\">Mr. Speaker, Burnaby Lake is smack dab in the middle of the city of Burnaby. It is key to our urban landscape, home to wildlife and a site of recreation and solitude for Burnaby's people.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"589566\" data-originallang=\"en\">As an urban lake, it is under great stress from the surrounding city. It is gradually silting in. Without a major dredging effort, it will become a swamp, an unsuitable habitat for the many species that need open water to flourish. Without open water, recreational uses also disappear.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"589567\" data-originallang=\"en\">The city of Burnaby has a plan to keep Burnaby Lake an open water lake. It has support from the GVRD and the province. Environmental approvals run out in September. The federal government has yet to agree to participate in this important project.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"589568\" data-originallang=\"en\">The previous Liberal government found money for similar projects in Liberal ridings. Surely the Conservative government can support a good project based solely on its merits.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"589569\" data-originallang=\"en\"> There are strong environmental reasons to do this work. The clock is ticking. I would urge the government to approve infrastructure funding for this important project to save Burnaby Lake without further delay.</p>",

Il s'envase graduellement. Si l'on n'effectue pas d'importants travaux de dragage il se transformera en mar\u00e9cage, milieu peu favorable aux esp\u00e8ces qui y vivent et qui ont besoin d'eau libre pour prosp\u00e9rer. La disparition du lac entra\u00eenera aussi la disparition des activit\u00e9s r\u00e9cr\u00e9atives.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"589567\" data-originallang=\"en\">La ville de Burnaby a un plan de revitalisation du lac Burnaby. Le district r\u00e9gional de Vancouver et la province appuient ce plan. Les autorisations environnementales expirent en septembre. Le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral n'a pas encore accept\u00e9 de participer \u00e0 cet important projet.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"589568\" data-originallang=\"en\">Le gouvernement lib\u00e9ral pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent avait d\u00e9gag\u00e9 des fonds pour des projets semblables dans des circonscriptions lib\u00e9rales. Le gouvernement conservateur peut assur\u00e9ment appuyer un bon projet en fonction de sa valeur exclusivement.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"589569\" data-originallang=\"en\">Des raisons environnementales s\u00e9rieuses appellent le lancement de ce projet. Le temps presse. J'invite le gouvernement \u00e0 approuver sans d\u00e9lai le financement de l'infrastructure n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de cet important projet de revitalisation du lac Burnaby. </p>"
