It would ban the advertising, sale and import into Canada of unsafe ski and snowboarding helmets that do not meet the requirements of the applicable Canadian Standards Association. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"505460\" data-originallang=\"en\">This is a medical, safety and economic issue. It is good public policy because recreational head injuries cost Canadian taxpayers over $100 million a year in health care costs, not to mention the human tragedy. My bill would ensure that Canadians would have the appropriate head gear protection they need when skiing or snowboarding.</p>\n<p class=\"procedural\" data-HoCid=\"6\"> (Motions deemed adopted, bill read the first time and printed) </p>",

Ce projet de loi interdirait la vente, l\u2019importation et la commercialisation au Canada de casques de ski et de planche \u00e0 neige qui ne satisfont pas aux exigences de la norme applicable de l\u2019Association canadienne de normalisation. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"505460\" data-originallang=\"en\">C'est une question de sant\u00e9, de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et d'\u00e9conomie. C'est une bonne politique publique parce que les blessures \u00e0 la t\u00eate survenues dans des lieux de loisir co\u00fbtent aux contribuables canadiens plus de 100 millions de dollars par ann\u00e9e en soins de sant\u00e9, sans mentionner les co\u00fbts humains qu'elles engendrent.
