        "en": "<p data-HoCid=\"63313\" data-originallang=\"en\">You are quite right, Mr. Speaker.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63314\" data-originallang=\"en\">What the <a data-HoCid=\"78738\" href=\"/politicians/stephen-harper/\" title=\"Stephen Harper\">Prime Minister</a> had called a controversial hypothesis and his former critic called a great socialist plot is in fact the greatest menace to this planet, something the government is turning its back on and systematically trying to pretend does not exist.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63315\" data-originallang=\"en\">It gets worse.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63316\" data-originallang=\"en\">Then we find out about the Friends of Science, a group much like the tobacco industry group formed to try to pretend that tobacco is not bad for us. When all the scientific evidence said that tobacco could kill us, Friends of Tobacco came forward and purported to have scientific evidence indicating that it was not bad for us.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63317\" data-originallang=\"en\"> In a similar fashion, this group, Friends of Science, was formed. Where did this group get its funding? The funding was set up by an individual by the name of Barry Cooper, a very close associate of the <a data-HoCid=\"78738\" href=\"/politicians/stephen-harper/\" title=\"Stephen Harper\">Prime Minister.</a> The objective was to funnel oil money through a system of hiding where it came from to allow it to get to Friends of Science so they could try to create doubt among the population that climate change is real. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63318\" data-originallang=\"en\">It does not end there.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63319\" data-originallang=\"en\">This Friends of Science group has all kinds of connections to the Conservative Party of Canada, from Barry Cooper to Morten Paulsen, Tom Harris, and others. The Conservative Party and Friends of Science are one and the same. This group, which seeks to sell our planet down the river, which seeks to confuse and distort the facts, is closely tied to the Conservatives.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63320\" data-originallang=\"en\">We have to look at what action we must take going forward. It struck me when David Suzuki made a statement saying that the planet does not care whether we continue to exist or we eradicate ourselves. The reality is that we are making our own decisions about whether or not we stay on this planet. It is up to us to find balance. It is up to us to lead the way and ensure that we strike a balance with our planet at a time when, within a generation, our oceans and our trees will be saturated with CO<sub>2</sub> emissions, at a time when permafrost is lifting at an unbelievable pace and releasing more and more CO<sub>2</sub> into the atmosphere, at a time when ice, which is 90% reflective of energy, is turning into water, which is 90% absorbent of energy, and at a time when Asia is booming and its CO<sub>2</sub> emissions are increasing day after day. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63321\" data-originallang=\"en\">We do not have a lot of time. We certainly do not have time for a government that distorts the facts, tries to mislead Canadians and does not take action on the issue.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63322\" data-originallang=\"en\">It is imperative that this motion pass. I would say it is imperative that we lead the way and ensure that we deal with the issue of climate change. Our very invitation to stay on this earth depends upon it.</p>",

Qui le finance? C'est une personne du nom de Barry Cooper, un tr\u00e8s proche collaborateur du <a data-HoCid=\"78738\" href=\"/politicians/stephen-harper/\" title=\"Stephen Harper\">premier ministre</a>. L'objectif consistait \u00e0 canaliser l'argent du p\u00e9trole de fa\u00e7on secr\u00e8te vers le groupe pour qu'il tente de semer le doute au sein de la population quant \u00e0 l'existence des changements climatiques.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63318\" data-originallang=\"en\">Et ce n'est pas tout.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63319\" data-originallang=\"en\">Cet organisme, Friends of Science, a de multiples liens avec le Parti conservateur du Canada, de Barry Cooper \u00e0 Morten Paulsen, Tom Harris et d'autres. Le Parti conservateur et Friends of Science ne sont qu'une seule et m\u00eame entit\u00e9. Cet organisme, qui souhaite vendre notre plan\u00e8te au plus offrant, qui cherche \u00e0 semer la confusion et \u00e0 d\u00e9former les faits, est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9 aux conservateurs.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"63320\" data-originallang=\"en\">Il nous faut nous pencher sur les mesures \u00e0 prendre pour la suite des choses. J'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 frapp\u00e9 par la d\u00e9claration de David Suzuki, qui soulignait que la plan\u00e8te ne se soucie pas de savoir si nous allons continuer d'exister ou si nous allons nous \u00e9radiquer nous-m\u00eames. En v\u00e9rit\u00e9, nous prenons nos propres d\u00e9cisions quant \u00e0 notre volont\u00e9 de rester ou non sur cette plan\u00e8te. Il nous incombe de trouver un \u00e9quilibre.
