"en": "<p>Mr. Speaker, we were saddened to learn of the death of Reine d'Est\u00e9e, better known under her stage name of Mimi d'Est\u00e9e.</p>\n<p>Although Mrs. d'Est\u00e9e was born in France, her family settled in Montreal in 1913.</p>\n<p>She became a star in the early days of radio and television. In the 1940s, she was called the \u201cReine de la radio\u201d or queen of the airwaves, a play on her name.</p>\n<p>In addition to appearing on stage and the radio, Mrs. d'Est\u00e9e had a long television career. In 1954, she appeared in the television series <em>14, rue des Galais</em> .</p>\n<p>A veteran performer, she recently appeared in series such as <em>Les tisserands du pouvoir</em> and <em>L'or et le papier</em> .</p>\n<p>I ask my colleagues to join me in recognizing the contribution of Mrs. d'Est\u00e9e to Canadian culture.</p>",
