        "en": "<p>Mr. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 36, it is my honour to present a petition bearing 290 signatures mostly from residents of my riding.</p>\n<p>The petitioners state that everyone who counsels a person to commit suicide or who aids or abets a person to commit suicide is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 14 years.</p>\n<p>They ask Parliament not to repeal or amend section 241 of the Criminal Code in any way and to uphold the Supreme Court of Canada decision of September 30, 1993 to disallow assisted suicide or euthanasia.</p>",
