I appreciate the question from Mr. Battiste and I'll expand on it to say that in addition to the perspective, experience and commitment that Justice O'Bonsawin will bring to the court, the element of diversity will add to the deliberation of the court on all of the matters it's dealing with and will add to the appreciation that Canadians have for the capabilities, reputation and integrity of the court itself.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"7292590\" data-originallang=\"en\">This is an important piece of our path to reconciliation and it's an important element of how we continue to build a country of diversity, where we're always learning, where we're always growing and where the Supreme Court of Canada, as a court of general jurisdiction, will show leadership, as it has. Canadians can continue to benefit from having a court that is fully representative of the country as we continue to learn, grow and reconcile. It is indeed a historic thing.</p>",
