Fran\u00e7ois joined us in June 2007, as we were in the latter stages of the transaction. Fran\u00e7ois' help was critical in allowing this transaction to cross over the goal line.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861520\" data-originallang=\"fr\">There is Tim McGrath, whom you know well. Mr. McGrath is responsible for all the real property within Public Works and Government Services Canada, both our real estate property and our leasehold interests. Tim also played a very important role in this transaction.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861521\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Ms. Marleau, my office, or the department, has submitted to the committee all the documents relevant to this transaction,</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861522\" data-originallang=\"en\">whether it be the Bank of Montreal or Royal Bank of Canada analyses, or whether it be the information memorandum that was used during the auction process. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861523\" data-originallang=\"en\">I was handed copies of the Deutsche Bank's fairness opinions, which were tabled in support of this transaction, dated October 15. So it goes back a few weeks already.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861524\" data-originallang=\"en\">So I believe the committee has all the documents it requires and basically can ascertain not only the data but why this transaction was undertaken and the benefits to taxpayers.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861525\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Having said that, Ms. Marleau, it would be my pleasure to take questions from the committee members.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861526\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I am here with Mr. Guimont and Mr. McGrath, in case their help is needed, and I suspect it will be needed at times.</p>",

Tim a aussi jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le tr\u00e8s important dans cette transaction.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861521\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Madame Marleau, mon bureau, ou le minist\u00e8re, a d\u00e9pos\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s du comit\u00e9 tous les documents pertinents li\u00e9s \u00e0 cette transaction,</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861522\" data-originallang=\"en\">c'est-\u00e0-dire les analyses de la Banque de Montr\u00e9al et de la Banque Royale du Canada, de m\u00eame que le m\u00e9moire qui a servi pendant le processus de vente aux ench\u00e8res.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861523\" data-originallang=\"en\">On m'a remis des exemplaires des opinions de la Deutsche Bank sur l'\u00e9quit\u00e9 du prix offert, dat\u00e9es du 15 octobre, qui appuient l'op\u00e9ration. Tout cela remonte donc \u00e0 quelques semaines d\u00e9j\u00e0.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861524\" data-originallang=\"en\">Je crois donc que le comit\u00e9 dispose de tous les documents n\u00e9cessaires pour qu'il puisse analyser les donn\u00e9es et \u00e9valuer la raison d'\u00eatre de cette op\u00e9ration et les avantages pour les contribuables.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861525\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Ayant dit cela, madame Marleau, j'aurai maintenant le plaisir de r\u00e9pondre aux questions des membres du comit\u00e9.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"861526\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Je suis accompagn\u00e9 de MM.
