For many years, various Europeans have been making representations that, more often than not, are misleading. We have asked for expert opinions to ensure that the seals were being killed in a humane way and were not suffering too much. Obviously, when anything is killed...</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1475088\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Aside from a minor change in the hunt itself, all the arguments brought before the European Union referred to that situation and to these objections, and it was presented in that way. \u201cSoftening\u201d a representation often signifies our backing down, a sense of guilt. I am putting the quotation marks because I am not sure that this is really a softer stance. However, we should not feel guilty about what has been done to us. We should not have to justify ourselves before our own citizens, who agree with us.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1475089\" data-originallang=\"fr\">The motion being presented seeks to make known internationally that we intend to maintain our position and defend it. Furthermore, mention has been made of the fact that we want to file an appeal before the WTO and we are not alone: others want to intervene with us. To that end, we must maintain the attitude we have always had and continue to say that we are right in what we are doing and that it is acceptable. It is by demonstrating that we are sure that we are right that we will maintain our strength in international circles.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1475090\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I am not directly opposed to Randy's motion, I think it is fine. Le fait d'\u00ab adoucir \u00bb une repr\u00e9sentation manifeste souvent un recul de notre part, un sentiment de culpabilit\u00e9. Je mets des guillemets parce que je ne suis pas s\u00fbr que \u00e7a adoucisse r\u00e9ellement. Or, on n'a pas \u00e0 se sentir coupables de la fa\u00e7on dont on fait les choses chez nous. On n'a pas \u00e0 se justifier devant nos propres citoyens, qui sont d'accord avec nous.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1475089\" data-originallang=\"fr\">La motion qu'on pr\u00e9sente vise \u00e0 faire savoir, au niveau international, que nous allons maintenir notre point et que nous allons le d\u00e9fendre. D'ailleurs, on mentionne qu'on veut en appeler devant l'OMC et on n'est pas les seuls: d'autres veulent intervenir avec nous. En ce sens, il faut conserver l'attitude qu'on a toujours eue et continuer \u00e0 dire qu'on a raison de faire les choses ainsi, que c'est acceptable. C'est en d\u00e9montrant qu'on est s\u00fbrs d'avoir raison qu'on va garder notre force au niveau international. </p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1475090\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Je ne suis pas directement contre la motion de Randy, je pense qu'elle est correcte. J'\u00e9tais d\u00e9j\u00e0 sensible \u00e0 cette motion et je continuerai \u00e0 l'appuyer telle qu'elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e \u00e0 l'origine.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"1475091\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Merci, monsieur le pr\u00e9sident.</p>"
