I take some exception to the characterization by Mr. Falk. I quite like Ted as a friend and colleague, but I strongly disagree that the issue is really ensuring that parents have the choice to stay home. I think it's giving them the choice to do that, and giving them the choice to work if they do want to.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"6757842\" data-originallang=\"en\">I'm curious about the following, Ms. Hannen. If the outcome of this program, per our intention, is to create spaces in communities that may not have them and to make it more affordable for families to access day care centres that may already exist, do you not think that giving that choice to a second parent who's currently making the economic decision to stay home, because they can't afford child care if they're going to work, will have the potential to give more choice to parents by expanding access either to facilities that exist now by making them cheaper, or by expanding through partnerships with communities and provinces, facilities and communities that don't have day care today?</p>",

Si ce programme a pour but de cr\u00e9er des places l\u00e0 o\u00f9 elles feraient d\u00e9faut et de rendre les garderies existantes plus abordables pour les familles, ne trouvez-vous pas que le fait de donner ce choix \u00e0 un deuxi\u00e8me parent qui prend la d\u00e9cision \u00e9conomique de rester \u00e0 la maison faute de moyens de se payer une garderie, offrira plus de solutions aux parents? Il s'agirait donc d'\u00e9largir l'acc\u00e8s aux garderies existantes en les rendant moins dispendieuses, ou de s'organiser en partenariat avec les municipalit\u00e9s et les provinces pour offrir ces services l\u00e0 o\u00f9 elles n'existent pas, n'est-ce pas?</p>"
