Municipalities as a whole share this vision.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206380\" data-originallang=\"fr\">We elected representatives often inherit situations from the past, but we nevertheless have the responsibility of preparing the heritage of tomorrow. In our municipalities we sometimes experience situations that are quite difficult.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206381\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I'll give you an example. Here in T\u00e9miscouata-sur-le-Lac, in 2002, a factory burned down which was not rebuilt; this caused the loss of 450 jobs. We had to deal with that, as well as with municipal budget cuts of 18%. Despite all of that, we had to continue to invest in our aqueduct infrastructure, and that is what we did.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206382\" data-originallang=\"fr\">People in our milieu decided to act. We created a municipal association with our neighbour. People voted in favour of that initiative. We are continuing to develop. Today, we are building our regional arena, which has to be upgraded. This is an $8-million construction project.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206383\" data-originallang=\"fr\">We want this project to generate leverage and to be a sort of regional event hub to attract private investment to the region. Our objective is to create a new economy, to create at least 50 jobs, and, in terms of the regional economy, to help all of the businesses in the surrounding area. We want this to be an energy-efficient and very innovative building.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206384\" data-originallang=\"fr\">I would like to make one last point. You need to look at the whole issue of cellular telephony, connectivity and broadband technology in the regions. That is important because the service is clearly deficient in our area.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206385\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Thank you.</p>",

Chez nous en 2002, \u00e0 T\u00e9miscouata-sur-le-Lac, une usine a br\u00fbl\u00e9 et n'a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 reconstruite, ce qui a entra\u00een\u00e9 la perte de 450 emplois. Il a fallu composer avec cela, de m\u00eame qu'avec une compression des budgets municipaux de 18 %. Malgr\u00e9 tout, il fallait continuer \u00e0 investir dans nos infrastructures d'aqueduc, et c'est ce que nous avons fait.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206382\" data-originallang=\"fr\"> Les gens du milieu ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de passer \u00e0 l'action. Nous avons \u00e9tabli un regroupement municipal avec notre voisin. Les gens ont vot\u00e9 en faveur de cette initiative. Nous continuons \u00e0 nous d\u00e9velopper. Aujourd'hui, nous en sommes \u00e0 construire notre ar\u00e9na r\u00e9gional, qui doit \u00eatre mis \u00e0 niveau. Le projet de construction se chiffre \u00e0 8 millions de dollars.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206383\" data-originallang=\"fr\"> Nous voulons que ce projet serve de levier et qu'il soit un genre de carrefour \u00e9v\u00e9nementiel r\u00e9gional pouvant attirer des investissements priv\u00e9s dans la r\u00e9gion. Nous avons comme objectif de faire na\u00eetre une nouvelle \u00e9conomie, de cr\u00e9er au moins une cinquantaine d'emplois et, en mati\u00e8re d'\u00e9conomie r\u00e9gionale, d'aider toutes les entreprises de la r\u00e9gion environnante. Nous voulons que ce soit un \u00e9difice \u00e9co\u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et tr\u00e8s innovant.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206384\" data-originallang=\"fr\">Il y a un dernier point que je veux aborder. En r\u00e9gion, il faudrait ajouter tout le volet de la t\u00e9l\u00e9phonie cellulaire, de la connectivit\u00e9 et de la large bande. C'est important parce que le service est nettement d\u00e9ficient en r\u00e9gion.</p>\n<p data-HoCid=\"4206385\" data-originallang=\"fr\"> Merci.</p>"
